Minimum Requirements
Police / Reserve Police Officer
Minimum age of 21
High school diploma or G.E.D.
Two (2) years of accredited college, two (2) years of military, or two (2) years of law enforcement experience preferred
Must possess a Florida Law Enforcement Certification
Must possess a valid Florida Driver License
No more than three (3) moving violations within the past three (3) years
No DUI convictions within the past ten (10) years
Other driving history will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis
No felony convictions
No misdemeanor convictions involving moral turpitude, false statements, perjury, or domestic violence
No marijuana usage in the last five (5) years
No other illegal drug usage in the last ten (10) years
No dishonorable discharge from the United States Armed Forces
Good physical condition
Preferred no tobacco usage for one (1) year prior to application submission and no tobacco usage after being hired
Limitations on body ornamentation and tattoos
School Crossing Guard
Minimum age of 18
High school diploma or possess a state equivalency diploma is recommended but not mandatory
Must be a United States Citizen
No felony convictions
No misdemeanor convictions involving moral turpitude, false statements, perjury, or domestic violence
Must pass an occupational health medical exam
Able to successfully pass a school crossing guard exam and re-certify annually
Must be able to handle working with children and work in a high vehicle traffic environment
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth vision, and ability to focus
