Enviro Tree will be taking down a large tree at Main Street and 3rd Avenue on Monday, November 22, 2021. Crews will be in place from 9am – 4pm. Due to the size of the tree, Main Street will have alternating lane blockages throughout the day. Crews will be in place to direct traffic. Drivers should expect delays and plan accordingly.

BE ADVISED:
A tree has fallen and taken down a power line on Bessie Street between E 6th and 7th Avenues. Power is out in the area. Duke Energy is on scene. Enviro Tree is enroute to remove the tree. Expect heavy traffic backup on E 6th and seek alternate routes if possible.

The Town does not have an ETA on when power will be restored to the affected area.

W. 6th is now open. Thank you for your patience

The closure of W 6th Avenue at Main Street for the installation of the water main for the new Town facilities has been extended until 6pm on Tuesday, June 22nd, 2021. See location of closure below

6/15 - 6/18

Beginning at 7am on Tuesday, June 15th, 2021 through 6pm, Friday, June 18th, 2021, a portion of W 6th Ave will be closed (no thru access) for the area highlighted area. This closure is due to the new Town facility tie in for the water main. We have left the parking open for Farmer Market. Reader boards are installed as a pre-warning for the closure.

**UPDATE**
12.45pm The obstruction has been cleared, traffic flow is no longer impeded. Please drive carefully.

Tractor trailer stuck on W 2nd Ave before Main due to low hanging limbs. Crews are enroute to assist now. Expect delays and consider alternate routes. Updates will be provided as they become available.

**BE ADVISED**
 
The contractor for the Windermere Brewery hit a water main on W 5th Avenue. Water is entering the roadway as a result.
 
Orange County Utilities Emergency crews have been contacted and are working to dispatch a crew to locate the shut off valves and shut that section of the system down.
 
Please exercise caution in the area and expect minor delays.

TRAFFIC ALERT
**UPDATE 5:05PM**
All lanes open on Conroy-Windermere. Please drive carefully. 
Be advised, there is car crash at Conroy-Windermere and Jennifer Lane. One lane is blocked, WPD is in the process of removing vehicle now. Traffic is backed up in both directions. It is advised to seek alternate routes and avoid the area if possible.

WHAT: Roadwork/maintenance

WHERE: 3rd Ave & Forest St and 5th Ave & Lake St

WHEN: Wednesday, May 19 from 9am – 3pm

Public Works will work with local residents in the affected areas who need access to and from their homes.

A section of the southbound lane of Maguire Road approaching the intersection of Estancia Woods Lane will be closed for a new water service installation (Orange County Utilities). Barricades, signs, and flaggers will be in place around the intended work site to direct traffic. Access will be available to the general public at all times. Markings for pedestrian walkways will be provided.

**UPDATE 5:05PM**
Road is open.
**UPDATE 3:45PM**
Apopka Gas is on scene. All traffic is being re-routed.

Construction crews hit a gas pipe on Chase Road just west of Main Street in the curve.  The Fire Department is on the scene.  Southbound traffic on Main Street will be rerouted.  Traffic on Chase Road toward Main Street will have to turn around.  Drivers should look for alternate routes until further advised.

3/30 - 4/2

PEC Surveying will be out doing the topographical survey for the Bessie Project within the next couple of days. There survey will focus primarily on the additional areas described below. Minimal to no traffic impact expected.

• Main Street and Old Main Street at 9th Avenue
• Oakdale Street – North and South of 9th Avenue
• 8th Ave – West of East Blvd
• Bessie Street – 7th Avenue to 6th Avenue

3/23 - 3/24 Power Line Work

Expect traffic congestion along 6th Avenue and Main Street on March 23 and 24 between 8am and 4pm as Duke Energy replaces power lines and poles.

Windermere PD reminds drivers to please be mindful of the speed limits and roads with no cut-through access.

1/16 Local Traffic Only

From approximately 4:00 – 4:45pm on January 16, W 2nd Avenue between Palm St and Pine St will be closed to all non-local traffic. Please use alternate routes during this 45 minute time frame.

10/26 Sidewalk Repairs

WHAT: Sidewalk repairs and a new ADA-compliant crosswalk. There will be limited traffic disruption due to the wide shoulder in the area

WHERE: E. 6th Avenue and Lee Street

WHEN: The week of 10/26, weather permitting, work will begin Monday 10/26

WHY: A recent tree failure damaged sidewalks in this area

EXTRA: Additional sidewalk repairs along Sixth Ave (from Lake Street to the east Town limits) are scheduled for this year during times of reduced traffic flow

9/28/2020 Multiple Washouts Alert

Due to heavy rains last night, the following locations have barricades/cones set up. We are in the process of addressing each location. Please exercise caution when driving.

E 5th Ave & Magnolia
E 9th Ave & East Blvd
E8th Ave & Bessie
W 1st & Butler
W 4th & Butler (specifically between Forest & Butler)

5/28/2020 Chase Road Alert


TRAFFIC ADVISORY

Be advised, expect lane closures/delays on Chase Rd for repairs to the guardrail that was recently damaged by a vehicle incident. Flagmen will be in place to direct traffic.

When: Thursday, May 28, from 9am to 3pm

Where: Chase Road
