*ASL 1 for Beginners – learn the fundamentals of ASL: 1pm – 2pm
*ASL 2 for Intermediate Students – build upon the basics learned in ASL 1: 2pm – 3pm
Why learn American Sign Language? ASL student, Hope, had this to share:
“Hi Mandy, it’s Hope from ASL class! I’m so excited and just had to share that I had my first conversation with a deaf customer at work today!!🎉 I spoke with two deaf ladies, one of which was going blind as well, she put her hands on mine as I signed to feel what I was saying and we were able to communicate well! We were both in tears by the end of our conversation because she told me that they had been out shopping all day and I was the first person to talk/understand her! I am happy to say I understood about 75% of what was signed and was able to chat back and forth freely.
I just wanted to thank you for not only helping me learn how to sign, but also grow my receptive skills to be able to understand what is being signed! I am so grateful for you and look forward to joining class again in a few weeks!🎉”
