Thankfully, no one was injured, and the area is safe.

On April 19, about 30 volunteers joined the Town of Windermere for a lake cleanup. 💚

Working together, they removed litter and debris to help protect water quality and our local ecosystem while supporting NPDES efforts.

Butler St & 7th Ave Construction - Week of April 20th to April 24th

This week, a crew may be doing limited work in Fernwood Park and possibly working in various areas along Butler and Forest Streets and 7th Ave. Here’s what to expect from Monday (4/20) to Friday (4/24):

• A crew may be grading a swale in Fernwood Park.

• A crew may continue work along Butler and Forest Streets and

  7th Ave, working on swales and road shoulders.

There may be daytime lane closures on Butler Street between 6th and 7th Avenues and on 7th Ave between Forest and Butler Streets.

Please allow extra travel time and drive safely! Thank you for being so patient!

Bessie St, East Blvd, 8th & 9th Aves. Construction Week of April 20th to April 24th

Crews will be performing miscellaneous activities at various locations, which may include road grading, right-of-way grading, and pouring concrete at structures located at 8th and East Blvd. Here’s what to expect from Monday (4/20) to Friday (4/24):

• Forming and pouring concrete at structures on 8th Ave and East Blvd.

• Road grading, road shoulder grading.

 There may be some temporary daytime lane closures.

Construction Update for 3rd Ave. and Magnolia Street - Week of April 20th to April 24th

Crews may be installing storm drainage alongside 3rd Street and digging swales this week. Here’s what to expect from Monday (4/20) to Friday (4/24):

• Completion of storm pipe.

• Possibly grading swales this week.

** 3rd Avenue may have daytime closures on some days this week. **

West 2nd Avenue Construction Week of April 20 to April 24
The information below is for West of Pine Street

Please be sure to allow for extra travel time!

Crews will continue repairing concrete and paver driveways and grading dirt behind the curb where needed. Sodding, mulching, or installing gravel and cleanup at Palmer Park will continue this week. Here’s what to expect from Monday (4/20) to Friday (4/24):

• Tie-in paver and concrete driveways to the new curb where needed.

•  Backfill and grade behind curbs in the right-of-way.

• Install Gravel, Sod, or Mulch.

• Clean up of the parking and storage area in Palmer Park on 3rd Ave and Pine Street will continue.

Daytime closures will be in effect. Please drive carefully! Thank you for your continued patience!

Friday, April 24th from 5:30 to 9:30 PM @ Town Square

What to bring to the lobby?

• Fruits: Canned fruit (in its own juice, no-sugar-added varieties), dried fruit, 100% fruit juice.

• Vegetables: Canned vegetables (low-sodium or no-sodium varieties), 100% vegetable juice, spaghetti sauce.

• Grains: Rice, pasta, crackers (whole-grain varieties), ready-to-eat cereal (low sugar/high-fiber), oatmeal.

• Protein Foods: Canned meat/poultry, canned tuna/salmon (packed in water), canned/ dry beans & peas (low/no-salt varieties), peanut butter.

• Dairy/Dairy Alternatives: Nonfat dry milk, evaporated milk, soy milk.

• Meals: Beef stew, canned soup (reduced-sodium varieties), chili, other canned meals.

• Other: Nutritional drinks (ex, Ensure, Boost).

• Baby Food: Must be in complete, undamaged original packaging. No individual serving glass or plastic containers unless in an unopened case.

• Non-food Items: Diapers, toiletries (soap, shampoo, shaving cream, etc.). Must be unopened and stored separately from food.

Lakes Cleanup Day – Round 2

Help us keep Windermere’s lakes pristine!

After our first Lakes Cleanup Day on November 2, here’s your chance to join us for Round 2!

• Meeting Location: Fernwood Park, 632 Butler Street

• Time: 1:15 PM (to gather supplies and organize teams)

• What to Bring: Closed-toed shoes; be prepared to walk through neighborhoods collecting trash to prevent litter from entering our lakes.

This is a great activity for the whole family—minors must be accompanied by an adult.
