Virtual Town Hall Meeting for COVID-19 Updates & Q&A
Join us Wednesday, April 29 at 2:30pm as we welcome Special Guest Danny Banks.
Danny Banks is the Deputy County Administrator / Director of Public Safety for Orange County, Florida. Banks was appointed to this position in March, 2019 by Orange County Mayor Jerry L. Demings. Prior to assuming this role, Director Banks served a 25 year career in law enforcement in Central Florida, which included service with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Director Banks most recently served as the Special Agent in Charge of FDLE’s Orlando Regional Operations Center, which encompassed the state’s largest law enforcement laboratory and sworn investigative unit in the state, serving nine counties of Central Florida. Director Banks began his law enforcement career in 1994with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, where he served6years until transitioning to FDLE.While at FDLE, Director Banks served as a member of the agency’s command staff for 12 years, and was the state police incident commander during the response to the Pulse Nightclub terrorist attack on June 12, 2016.As the Director of Public Safety for Orange County, Florida, Director Banks oversees the operations of multiple public safety departments within the county, encompassing over 3,300employees with an annual budget in excess of $500 million.Director Banks’ oversight includes the Orange County Fire Rescue Department, the Orange County Corrections Department and the county’s Office of Emergency Management. Director Banks also maintains oversight of the county’s Health Services Department, which provides safety and wellness resources to the citizens of Orange County. Director Banks is a graduate of the Florida State University, as well as numerous executive leadership programs across the nation.He is a graduate of the FBI’s Chief Executive Institute and the FBI National Academy, and has served on numerous local, state and national governance boards related to public safety.
The Town will hold Virtual Town Hall meetings every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 2:30pm. The Town will continue to post updates/pertinent information on Tuesdays and Thursdays on our website and across our social media. Meetings will continue at least through the end of April.
