Event Description

Friday, 4/3/2020 Virtual Town Hall Special Guest

As promised, we are super excited to announce our special guest, fellow Winderemere resident, Dr. Gary Visser!

Dr. Visser will join Mayor O’Brien, Town Manager Smith, and Chief Ogden on tomorrow’s Virtual Town Hall Meeting to discuss the medical aspect of COVID-19 and how to stay healthy.

Gary Visser, MD, FAAFP

Board Certified Family Physician; American Board of Family Medicine
Fellowship trained in Sports Medicine; USF-Morton Plant Mease Family Medicine Residency

Hometown: Harare, Zimbabwe
Education: Bachelors in Exercise Physiology; Doctor of Medicine, Florida State University College of Medicine.

After growing up in the Dr. Phillips area, Gary received his undergraduate degree in Exercise Physiology at Florida State University, where he also competed on the track and field team in the decathlon. He graduated from FSU’s College of Medicine’s third class, and completed his residency training in Family Medicine at the USF-Morton Plant Mease program. Dr. Visser’s passion for athletics inspired him to pursue a fellowship in Sports Medicine. There, he worked closely with the Philadelphia Phillies MLB team, USF athletics, and the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championships. Dr. Visser believes in hearing your personal story to customize recommendations for your unique situation, helping you discover and reach your goals. His professional philosophies integrate nutrition and fitness, preventative medicine with proactive education, and encouraging a balanced life. Gary cherishes time with his family and friends, as well as training for triathlons.

Join us tomorrow at 2:30pm. Meetings will be held daily at 2:30pm beginning Thursday, March 26 and concluding on Thursday, April 30. Yes, Saturday and Sunday, too!
