MESSAGE FROM CHIEF OGDEN
Posted Date:
5/1/2014
On Wednesday April 30th just before 11:00pm, the Windermere Police Department was dispatched to 11536 Lake Butler Blvd. reference to a home invasion. When the homeowners arrived home in their carport/garage area they were met by three masked men holding weapons. The suspects bound the homeowners’ hands and walked them inside the residence to steal cash and/or valuables therein. The individuals remained fully clothed and masked the entire time. No one was injured and ultimately the suspects stole one of the owner’s vehicles and fled west bound. The vehicle was left abandoned at the North West corner of 535 and Lake Butler.

Windermere PD took the lead on the investigation and called OCSO Forensics to process the scene. The Town is in possession of the vehicle which is currently being processed.

“Although this is frightening to happen in our community I believe this to be an isolated incident.” said Windermere Police Chief David Ogden.

The Town of Windermere Police Department will not comment further on this matter since it is still under investigation. Any further updates on the investigation will be released when available.

Crimeline will be offering a $1000.00 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspects. If you have information please contact the Windermere Police Department at 407-876-3757.

Please do not respond via facebook or social media.
