May 4, 2013 - Ladies Self Defense Class
I and 11 other fortunate ladies/girls attended a self-defense class conducted by Chief Ogden and 4 other members of our law enforcement community. This class included physical self-defense moves, but probably more important it provided tips on how to prevent an incident that would require these moves.
We discussed the importance of being aware of your surroundings, having a plan, trusting your intuition and always keeping space between you and your assailant. Whether you are a child, teenager, adult or senior this information is important to know.
Chief Ogden provided a safe and fun atmosphere while teaching different self -defense techniques. I’m positive all who attended walked out of the seminar more confident in their abilities to protect themselves and others in critical situations.
We are very lucky to have our new Windermere Chief of Police and the experience and knowledge that he is bringing to our town. I encourage the residents to take advantage of the various training opportunities when they are offered.
