After monthsof gathering input from residents, researching Windermere park areas and compiling data, the University of Central Florida’s School of Public Administration Urban Planning class presented their findings and recommendations to the Windermere Town Council at a special workshop. The dozen students were on hand along with Dr. Chris Hawkins (far left). The year long collaboration between the college and Windermere provided a long term vision and plan for the Town’s public spaces. This project allowed students to gain real life experience by conducting resident surveys and town hall meetings and allowed the Town to use the knowledge of planning experts at no cost to the taxpayer.
