Conroy Windermere Road Resurfacing Information

The resurfacing of Conroy-Windermere Road from the post office to Main Street has begun. There will be crews working both day and night to complete the much needed improvements in a timely manner. There may be traffic shifts and delays as this project progresses. Please drive carefully and heed all directions from any detour signage, flagmen or police officers in the construction zone for the duration of the project. The resurfacing is projected to be substantially completed on or about October 7, with final completion by October 31. As always, please call the Administration office with any questions you may have. Thank you for your patience as we continue our efforts to improve the roads throughout Town.

What's New in Town

indermere is surrounded by sand bottom lakes. Lake Butler (the largest) is on the west, Lake Down on the east, and Lake Bessie on the southeast. By means of a system of canals, Butler, Down and six other lakes are connected to form what is known as the Butler Chain.

Know Your Town's Permitting Requirements
Windermere Town Code, Chapter 2, Article 1, Section 2-4
If you live inside the Town limits of Windermere or doing a job for someone who does, you need a permit to build a house, build/replace a fence, add a pool, patio, addition, driveway, remove a tree, etc. Please follow the link to see the Town's Residential Zoning Approval Procedure for more details, and feel free to contact Sherry Music, Town Zoning Clerk, at 407-876-2563, extension 27 if you have any additional questions.

The Windermere History Book can be picked up at Suzi Karr Realty Office (527 Main Street, 407-876-3688). Extra copies are available to purchase for $29.00 each. Any Town resident who has not received their free book will need to provide proof of residency at that time.
